A Week Into November

Today I have the windows open, the sun shines, the breeze wanders. It is 11C outside and 23C inside the house. Last night it was warm enough in the house to interfere with my sleep, so I got out of bed and turned on the air conditioning, on November 6th, who would have thought!

I turned off the air conditioning this morning and the house immediately became too warm, 24C, which is too warm for me when I am active, barely comfortable when I am at rest.

Strange and pleasant weather!

Attila has just come in from the garden with a colander of freshly picked broccoli. He is steaming it for our lunch, to be served with a cheese sauce. Fresh garden produce continues to comprise a significant portion of our daily food. This morning I enjoyed a toasted tomato sandwich for breakfast. The garden tomatoes are slowly ripening in the basement in a cardboard box, so we have them fresh in sandwiches and in green salads daily. Yesterday for lunch I enjoyed air fried garden squash, oh so good. I wonder if Attila will be harvesting vegetables from the garden in December!!

My doctor’s appointment finally got sorted, and I was prescribed another BP medication, and referred for an electrocardiogram test. The Locum I saw was very thorough, I still haven’t met the GP we have been assigned to. The medication caused an extreme sudden rise in my BP, and I was wide awake for 28 hours, not a good med for me! I stopped taking it and will make another appointment. My BP came back down within two days, and the other symptoms are slowly subsiding. My BP is stubborn, it doesn’t really respond to medications.

Hours later, in the afternoon, me in a tank top and flip flops, 11C outside, windows wide open, and I still feel too warm! A very surprising November.

I think of my Mom reading this quote, a more level head never existed, when danger was/is near.

Hi Maggie. Was it the medication they just gave you that caused the reaction? That’s sounds frightening. I hope they can find a better med for you.
We’ve had the longest and nicest Fall this year. I’m trying to enjoy every minute of it. I hope your nice weather continues too. 🙂

Well, it has NOT been a fun two weeks but it looks like I’m finally on the mend and eating some normal foods. I’ve actually lost one or two sizes in clothes because there were days I couldn’t eat at all. I don’t like how little direction doctors give you, and my GP was actually surprised thst the surgeon never offered me surgery for the twisted bowel – but then I never got to see her a second time because her hospital receptionist would only offer me a follow-up appointment for Nov 21st and going up there put me hours behind at the actual emergency room.

Fortunately, even with such hit and miss care, I’ve figured it out for myself and am now on Day 3 of recuperating.

I’m glad I checked the ‘spam’ folder. I found your notice in there. I told the yahoo mail it’s not spam, and I hope that doesn’t happen again. I hope you’re able to find a better medicine soon.
