Morning Installment
If I ever needed a bright sunny morning, it would be this morning. It has arrived, I am sitting in the sunshine, basking in it, as I sit at the keyboard.
Attila and I will be home from work by lunch time. We will be sticking close to home because of the flashing warning lights in the car. Attila will continue to dig wood out from under the snow, as it is still falling below -10C at night, although the temperature was a balmy 11C during the day yesterday.
Mist has already commandeered my easy chair for her morning nap. I’ve watered the plants and checked in at the usual web sites I visit in the mornings. I have Skype going, just in case, but usually there isn’t anyone on my contact list looking for company at this time on a Saturday morning, or most mornings for that matter.
Funny thing, since Christmas I’ve only seen friends or relatives once, when Attila and I visited the little house in the city last month and visited with Terra and Lares when we were there. All my personal in-person contact with the outside world since then has been with people who don’t know my name at the grocery checkout, occasional contact with pleasant employees at other offices where I’ve had a few days work, or a lot of contact with the negative coworker who does know my name, which is not a good thing.
Afternoon Installment
After a telephone conversation with Harriet, Attila conducted a few experiments on the car, which had worked on Harriet’s Honda. The procedures did not work on our Toyota. Lights still flashing.
I worked alone today. One customer came in to resolve an issue, but I couldn’t figure out what was going on from the brief note she had been sent by my coworker. I could find no additional information about the issue, so I had to keep apologizing and apologizing. I don’t mind apologizing, but darn it, I’d much rather have been able to resolve her issue!! Management is not available for consultation on the Saturday shift. The customer told me that our office was the worst one she’d ever dealt with. All I could say was “I’m sorry, I’m not in charge, I wish I was.” I suppose it wasn’t the most diplomatic thing to say, but I was almost as frustrated with my workplace as she was.
Attila and I relaxed with a movie this afternoon, Nine Lives. Very interesting, surreally real. The film deals with women facing the challenges of life. However, having lived through a few challenges myself, and being a woman, I will say that no matter how miserable things ever got, joy could be found somewhere. That part was missing from the film, so it was only a partial reality.
Lares and Terra have been with Lares extended family for the last week, as they said farewell to Lares Grandfather who passed away last Monday. We have had a few messages from Terra. They will be returning home this weekend at some point, and will probably be feeling sad and exhausted. Take care of yourselves Lares and Terra.
I had a nice chat with Luna day before yesterday. They are busy looking for a new home in the new location where they will be moving. Tiring and a bit exciting. Luna sent some pictures of the grandkids, what a buncha cuties! I could just reach out and give them a hug, almost. They change so quickly, we will have to get reacquainted when we see them next, it has been three months.
I continue to follow developments in Japan:

I’m sure the fella’s behind developing nuclear power, and even those who embrace the nuclear future, are sorry, really sorry that this catastrophe has unfolded as it has in Japan.
