Attila and I took a one week vacation from work. Sounds lovely, doesn’t it. I looked forward to it so very much. And now it is over.
What did we do during our one week of rest and relaxation. We scraped, power-washed and sanded four layers of exterior paint from our little house in the city. And when we were done all that, we painted, and painted, and painted.
We worked from first light until dark every day for six whole days and two partial days.
No telephone, no television, no internet. We did watch some very good movies on CD after dark, compliments of Terra and Lares.
We are tired and sore and pleased with ourselves.

Well done! What a lot of labor–and what a lovely result.
Thanks Wendy! When Attila painted a little corner of the front wall, over a mixture of painted and bare wood surfaces, it looked hideous! I was so distraught that I went right out and bought a chocolate cake to drown my sorrow! By the time one wall had received a second coat I was sure the colours would work, what a relief!
