No Place Like Home

Our health and the weather have dominated life at our house. Attila survived an accident, unscathed, which is a very big deal in our little world. The drought has continued, after a brief reprieve of just under an hours soft rainfall last week in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Thundershowers are predicted for today. We have our fingers crossed that the rain comes first and the lightening comes later. Lightning hits can generate fires in this tinder dry environment. So this morning, at eight, there was a brief rainfall, lasting less than one minute. The sun is shining again. It wasn’t enough rain, not yet. There are still clouds out there, so I am cheering them on.

Tomorrow I have work lined up, and will be working for the next few weeks. Although grateful for the work, I am still not looking forward to it. But really, how many of us look forward to going to work! I do not dread going to work, which is a huge improvement over my recent full-time job and that is all that I feel I can reasonably expect. I have kept up with standing and moving about all day, to putter around the house, and work on the computer. The stamina needed for the job has hopefully been maintained.

Dorothy said it best, there is no place like home. Acknowledging that for some this is not a positive statement and that I am very lucky that it is a positive statement in my present context.

I hear not so distant thunder, so it is time to turn off the computer and pull the plug.
