The police have closed the main highway here, due to weather conditions, snow squalls and zero visibility. Luckily we were not planning on going anywhere. We still have power, for which I am grateful.
The snow squalls are predicted to persist into Thursday, with the possibility of 40 more centimetres of snow. We already have 30 cm of snow on the ground.
Attila will be getting up very early to clear the snow out of the drive so that he can get to work. Of course, if the road is not ploughed he may not be able to get out anyway.
When the winter weather is this intense Attila gets worn down, he works outside. In November it was rain, rain, rain. Now it is snow, snow, snow. I wonder if we will be getting sun, sun, sun, and if we do it will probably be very cold, cold, cold.

Poor Attila, to have to work outside in that extreme cold! I hope your power keeps holding.
We only have a small dusting of snow here but it’s gotten pretty cold. We are counting our blessings, I had thought we would be inundated with snow this year but so far, at least here in eastern Mass., we’ve not had much of anything.
Hope you get your sun, sun, sun real soon!
The stormy weather is particularly difficult, because he responsible for keeping things moving along smoothly, which means moving a lot of that white stuff out of the way so that the job can get done. It is a lot of extra work, on top of having to be out in it!
The hydro has held steady so far. I’ve been cooking and baking up a storm, in case we lose it.
Every winter is different here! One winter we got most of our snow in December. Another winter most of it came in March. There is a snow squall going on right now, roaring wind and driven snow crossing horizontally by the window every time a gust blows by. It is pretty. I often think of the pre-contact populations who lived here, and how they must have been very attuned with the weather to survive all of this.
