Welcome March

Very good news for the first day of March. Today was my Mom’s last treatment. Well done Mom, and congratulations!

The temperature plummeted last night, and it is back to winter weather we go again. Hopefully this week’s storms will be winter’s last blast. I am hoping that we don’t get too much snow, so that we can get the driveway well cleared to welcome Iris home on the weekend, also hoping for good driving conditions over the weekend so that there are no postponements.

Lately I have been watching cinema out of New Zealand, and enjoying the very different perspective. I particularly liked “An Angel At My Table”, a Jane Campion film based on the autobiographies of Janet Frame, poet and author. I think what I found refreshing, is that someone outside the “provincial” elite was recognized based on merit alone; it reminds me that in Canada we did have Margaret Laurence, once upon a time, long ago.

I’m glad you got good news about your mother. May she continue to feel better. Enjoy your new travel trailer!

Yay! for your mom!

Good news, indeed. Here’s hoping that both the condition and the treatment become nothing more than an unpleasant memory.

Still the Lucky Few

Glad that you mentioned Margaret Laurence, a name I haven’t heard for years, and a favorite author. Also glad your mother has had her last treatment. Hope she continues to improve.

So glad about your Mom.

We are in mourning here over the loss yesterday of our beloved Kip, our younger collie dog. He would have been 9 in April. He developed osteosarcoma (bone cancer) and about a month ago was diagnosed. He was given 3-5 months but it was very aggressive and only 1 more month was all we had to love him. It is so damn hard to say goodbye.
