Well, it happened again.
The furnace broke down, again.
That was an hour and a half ago.
Lares is here, fixing a different part that broke down, the fan motor. Attila called Lares, after spending time trying all the things he knew to try. Lares came over straight away, needed different parts, phoned around, found them, went to pick them up, and is doing the install now.
Luckily the temperature is still relatively close to freezing, -4C, so that the house is not terribly cold, even though the furnace has been out of commission for an hour and a half. Later tonight the temperature is supposed to drop to -16C, so I am very grateful that Lares made time during his evening off to trek over here and fix our furnace!
As I am writing the furnace started up and it is working!!
Maggie, if it’s not one thing, it’s too. Here’s hoping this is the end of the furnace issues.

Things like that make you appreciate the simple things like heat and comfort. Yay for Lares!
Wendy, LOL! The furnace seems to be ticking along nicely this morning, lovely! It did go down to 016C last night, and it was warm and cozy in here.
Sandy, it is good really, to be reminded how lucky I am to have such a cozy, comfortable place to call home! Lares is really, really good at what he does!

Joan, I guess it is getting old, and it is getting a lot of use this winter. It is great to have Lares! There are companies that will respond 24/7 to no heat calls, but they cannot compare to Lares.
I tend to go off on tangents about how the world would be better off with ALL women in it…. but it’s times like these that men are certainly appreciated and needed. But it may be time to think about a new furnace. When they start going on the blink like that, they may be sending a message that they are getting elderly! So glad it’s working again.
Bex, a new furnace may be in the cards, but for now this one is working again. Quite an expense, a new furnace, and we would switch from oil to natural gas, which is available at the road, but not into the house, so it would be a very big understaking to put in a new furnace. We shall see what happens!
