OK, so my life isn't exactly stylish or trendy. It doesn't seem to fit neatly into any media representation of happily ever after. But here I am, the incredible invisible woman, doing just that, living "happily ever after". Sort of. The real "happily ever after" is no cakewalk. It is not that I live in happy ignorance. It is not that I am a well known or renowned public figure. It is not that I have obtained a state of affluence or even comfort. It is not that the demons have stopped plaguing my universe. Oh my no. It is only that I have walked the inner shadows, examined my details by that natural light, attained some knowledge of and liking for myself. A friend once said to me, "You're work!" Yes. So are you my friend, so are you. I wonder, is this the true origin of the phrase "labour of love"? |
