We did get out for our groceries yesterday, in a snow storm. The drive was frightful, but we made it there and back again without mishap.

I slept well last night but had a bit of a rough day today, cabin fever. I think the realization that yet another winter has set in hit home today. After pacing the floors for a while, I finally settled into a project.

The temperature dropped dramatically today. The skies were sunny and a clear brilliant blue. We took a stroll down the road and found the stiff breeze very cold indeed. After walking a decent distance we returned home to thaw out our fingers and toes. My fingers stung as they warmed up, just like they did when I was a kid and played outside for too long.

In order to keep the house warm through this cold snap we are burning three fires today. It is so cold outside that the wood on the deck suddenly contracts with a loud crack. Winter is cracking its' whip!

Photography: "a term which comes from the Greek words photos (light) and graphos (drawing). A photograph is made with a camera by exposing film to light in order to create a negative. The negative is then used in the darkroom to print a photograph (positive) onto light-sensitive paper.

The short form, "blog," was coined by Peter Merholz, who jokingly broke the word weblog into the phrase we blog in the sidebar of his blog Peterme.com in April or May 1999.[5][6][7] Shortly thereafter, Evan Williams at Pyra Labs used "blog" as both a noun and verb ("to blog," meaning "to edit one's weblog or to post to one's weblog") and devised the term "blogger" in connection with Pyra Labs' Blogger product, leading to the popularization of the terms."
