Some
days
are just quiet. Today was like that. I made serious headway on my jigsaw puzzle and cooked some amazing BBQ beef ribs for dinner. I fantasized about having a place in the city, that I could visit when I want a break from the isolation of country living. That is always good for a few hours of dreaming. Henry dropped by with his dear Aunt for a cup of tea, we had a nice chat. A good day, of little note. |
RECIPES :: Cast Worldly Distractions The Day's Occupation Quote "Boredom is not an end-product, is comparatively rather an early stage in life and art. You’ve got to go by or past or through boredom, as through a filter, before the clear product emerges." F. Scott Fitzgerald (1896–1940) "Between the dark and the daylight, When the night is beginning to lower, Comes a pause in the day’s occupations, That is known as the Children’s Hour." Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1809–1882) This poem was read to us by my mother and grandmother, as our bedtime story. I love it still.
