Shingrix Number Two

On Monday afternoon, August 12, I had my second Shingrix shot.

I was fine for a few hours, then became extremely chilled. By bedtime I had a fever, chills, a severe headache, and pain all over my body.

Last night was awful. There was no comfortable position. The symptoms intensified, and when I arose I was unsteady on my feet.

Today, Tuesday, the fever, headache, body pain, and chills continue. I have no appetite. Attila keeps feeding me, blueberries, peaches, salad, toast.

I’ve slept while sitting on my chair, off and on all day. I am wearing a heavy sweater, fluffy socks, and have a blanket over me. Sleeping during the day is definitely not like me.

All of this is as expected.

I am so glad the tomato processing was completed on Monday morning! Attila has been busy all day today, cleaning equipment and putting it away, dehydrating the tomato skins and seeds for tomato powder. I’ve just a few jars of canned tomatoes left to label and clean and put away. Another day.

Maggie, I hope your side effects are passing off by now. Best wishes.

Steven Simms

Sorry for your pains. May you have a long and restorative sleep when this is over.

Feel better soon! I never get more than one shot at a time because I have a strong reaction to them, too. Rest well!

Sandy

Get well soon, Maggie. Make sure you stay hydrated too.

Teri

Aw! I’m so sorry, Maggie! I’d hoped you’d have little reaction. I’m glad you’re feeling better today.

My family thought I never had chicken pox, so maybe my not reacting much to the vaccine is proof that I didn’t? The good thing is you’ll do better if you ever get shingles. I have a friend who got it 3 times and she suffered terribly each time.
