Wringing Wet

These things still make me shudder: got my arm caught in the ringer of one of these when I was around two years old, maybe younger, hard to pinpoint. No safety release on the old beast we had, in it up to my neck, Mother came running when the screaming started. Not a fond memory, but a distinct one!
How did I get in there, well I wasn’t a docile little thing, quietly playing in a corner with a bunch of dolls, was I! It moved, it needed investigation.

We are dripping our way into spring! It is raining today and the snow is slowly dripping away with the rain. Wonderful!

I drove quite a distance for three hours of work today, but enjoyed myself once I got there. The roads are clear and wet, which makes for good driving conditions.

We visited with Attila’s daughter Emmi, from his first marriage, over the weekend. I’ve known Emmi from the time she was six years old, her mother and partner (not Attila) were friends from way back. Emmi lives in Alberta and was back in Ontario to visit family. We got to meet her partner Otto and their two children, more Grandbabies, who are Lilt, 18 months, a girl, and Skipper, 4 months, a boy. Enjoyed the visit tremendously.

Luna, Janus and the Grandbabies are spending their holidays with Janus’ family in Florida. Now they need to go during the March break because Imp and Elf are in school.

We got to see Terra and Lares the last time we travelled to the little house in the city, and are looking forward to getting back down there to see them again. I really like visiting them in their new home, it is already cozy and friendly and we always have a good time when we are there. I miss them during the long, long winters.

We really need to get working on the bathroom renovation at the little house in the city. But first, Attila will finish the paint job around the kitchen window. When that is done and dry, then I can begin to sew the curtains for the windows. I have the material, bright and cheerful; it is a twin bed bedspread I found used and in very good condition. A day or so at the sewing machine will transform it into very nice window coverings for the kitchen and dining area in the little house in the city.

We do not have another two-day weekend off until the end of April, so it will be a while before we will be able to get a run at that bathroom renovation!
